A weekend for two, suspended above Lake Balaton (again 😜)
We’re sneaking out of Budapest for the weekend — back to your lake. Same water, same hills, but this time from a top-floor suite at Hotel Vinifera Wine & Spa — five stars, recommended by the Michelin Guide.
A suite at the very top, all to ourselves
On the hotel’s top floor: a bedroom, a living room, a walk-in closet, and a wide furnished terrace looking out over the eastern basin of the lake.
There’s even a wine fridge in the suite — we can toast at sunset without ever leaving our floor. And I promise you get the side of the bed with the view.
Whole days lazing at the spa
Ten pools, saunas, treatments… a vast wellness world where the only serious decision of the day will be: indoor pool or outdoor pool?
And once we’ve soaked long enough, Eszterházy beach is an eight-minute walk away — where we’ll rent a little pedal boat and cruise the magyar tenger without getting a single hair wet. Promise.
The wine, of course
Vinifera lives up to its name: every afternoon a sommelier pours the best local wines at the Ambrosia wine bar — your chance to find out whether a Frenchman can tell his Olaszrizling from his Furmint.

A bike ride and a picnic
We’ll rent two bikes and go for an easy ride along the water.
And somewhere with a nice view, we’ll stop for a picnic.
